Vaughn,
I thought that might be you.... I'm in Ft. Lauderdale and have a tentative ship date of 11/3 - 11/19,,, although FFR is playing it close to the vest at the moment. It would be a drive,,, but you’re certainly welcome to stop by anytime……

I'm looking for some low end cost parts on the rims and tires at this point as I suspect I'll upgrade when the car is complete.

Fred
I know of the kit, as soon as i read factory five i knew exactly what it was.

If you're in the lakeland area you really should work something out with Gene at Karshop, he's reasonably priced and he's probably got what you need.

There's also a Corvette junk yard in the sfl area where you are now.

Jim,

Not to steal this thread but Nov. should be good, with less traffic. Staying in your lane is a necessity! I ran it last Sunday with tons of motorcycles....only one other Corvette..a C3. Hint #1 - you need to stay in your lane!! I knew I had to stay in my lane and did a great job until I hit the "Hump" I believe. It was a quick right, left, right where you can see all three curves, but only after you get there!!! My speed was too intense and I blew a straight line through 'em laughing all the way...no traffic was coming so I didn't fight it. For the hard core guys reading this....I could have negotiated all three curves with my Corvette but what the hey, with no traffic!! Hint #2 - have a blast and run it as many times as you can! I had driven 130 miles with my wife to get there and she was already primed from the great secondary roads already!! Although she was a real trooper, twice was enough for her (and me) since I had to drive the 130 miles back to Hendersonville!! If possible I will post a thread on this tonight. More Saturday at Ecklers.

Thanks for the invite FAB! It's not even 5 hours... I almost drove to Virginia to see the GTM in person so I'll definitely come down once you get it, if it's convenient for you. I'll catch you on the other forum - I'd love to hear where you're at with parts acquisition. Hope to meet you on Saturday. Look for the guy wearing the black Opus X hat:

Cheers,
Vaughn

Ernie,
Is your son coming?? If so, I'll bring some stogies.

If Jim leads and we don't get LOST, we might make it there by 0730!! Jim is one of the few blokes I know that drives faster and more aggressively than I do!!! Now if I only had his intake manifold and gear equivalent for my MN6....

2 more days!!

Colman's not going to make it, with college football and his daughter's soccer schedule he has other priorities. Me on the other hand Bring the stogies anyway and we'll burn one in his honor With all this talk, I think Jim's getting a complex, that he richly deserves See ya Sat AM
