Curious.....Looking at a 2000 Black FRC, 7200 miles, bone stock/original, 2 owner (2nd owner purchased @2k miles), clean CARFAX, clean GM Claim History, no paint/body work, no warranty. Although the inspections are not complete, it appears to be cherry. Asking price $27,600.
KBB=
Trade-In=$18,850
Private Party=$22,355
Retail=$26,010
Although I've always believed that KBB (and all the other pricing guides), are just that, pricing guides, spending $1600 big ones over retail causes me to pause. Maybe market conditions justify the extra.
Needless to say, I am not a Corvette price expert. I'd like to approach the owner with a fair offer that is not insulting.....
Could any of you "veterans" give me some price direction? I'd really appreciate the help.

If you like the car offer him 25K and see what happens. I'm sure you can find some middle ground!

Seems a tad high, but it does have low mileage. Perhaps offer $1-2K less and see if he bites.

Unless he's made it clear the price is firm, he's willing to negotiate.

He's put a high asking price so he has room to negotiate. Start low and work up to what you're comfortable with.
