ok all who have replaced the seat leather,
1. how much better is the aftermarket leather than the stock?
2. is the leather durable and will it stand up to daily use?
3. or do you still run covers?
4. if so which covers would you recomend?
5. would I be better off getting custom made covers from a local shop that included a diffrent tuffer material in the wear areas on the seats?
I'm a big guy and tend to eat up the leather fast.

I have a V.E. interior. The quality of the materials far surpasses the O.E.M. leather. I have had mine for about 5 months, but my car is not a daily driver, and I try to be pretty careful.
I wear a pager and a cell (work issued) - I take the phone off my belt before I get into the car, and I try to slide the pager more towards the front away from the bolster to keep the pager from scratching up the leather. I also treat the leather with leather treatment - so mine looks just like it did when I installed it.
Maybe some of the others here that have had their aftermarket leather longer will speak up. I know that Patches recently posted that he has had the Wet Okeles on his seat for a while, and when he took them off to clean the seats recently, he reported that his seats look like brand new. Maybe you should think about that as a solution....

I've had my V.E. interior for two years now and it still looks like the day I installed it. I drive my Vette every chance I get, but it's not my daily driver. You can't beat the quality of Ken's leather. It's well worth the money.

I've got the Vette Essentials interior also and undoubtedly it is far superior to the stock leather. I've had mine in the car for about 2 1/2 years and it still looks great. I too treat it often with leather conditioner and I think that really helps. If you want a top quality interior that lasts, get the VE stuff.
They have been around a long time check them out at www.corvetteamerica.com. I used the 100% leather seat covers. Some cover and I believe the orignals have just the seating surface which is leather.
Another vote for Kens VE interior leather products. Wonderful quality. And, if you are hard on seats, you might invest in some decent seat covers (Ecklers, Mid America, etc.) as advised above to help reduce stress and wear.
