The manual transmission fluid used in your vette is the same as used in the A4. Most all manual aluminum transmissions and aluminum transfer cases (4x4's) in modern cars and trucks use automatic transmission fluid.

8 pints. Fill and drain plugs are torqued to 20 ft-lbs. If I remember correctly you need a deep 22mm socket to remove the fill plug because it has a sending unit attached to it.

For the C5/Z06 manual transmissions, a fluid meeting Dexron III standards is required. This fluid is normally an ATF. The C4 is different. Not sure about the C6.
I have been using the AMSOIL ATF on the track for the past two seasons and have had no transmission issues (still on my original stock tranny).
Tranny will take just under 4 quarts. 3.5-3.75 is normal for most drain and refills.
