Never valet, in some instances you may not have a choice, $20 to the valet captain and he'll let you park it yourself and keep the keys, it always worked for me

Normally, I don't valet my car..In fact, I've only done it once..I recently went to a friend's bachelor dinner at some sushi joint on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood..I was a little skeptical about the "valet only" parking..When I got there, there was a yellow Lambo and a brand new Rolls Royce Phantom in the valet line just ahead of me..You think I made a fuss about my Corvette? Not even..The parking was in a sub-garage and I watched the guy drive it 50 feet into a spot..The situation humbled me just a bit..
I have been to that restaurant, it is a great place (lots of hot women)!!!
I don't trust 'em with my 10 year old Acura Legend.....it will never happen with my Corvette!! IMO you're just asking for an opportunity to buy a new Corvette if you surrender you keys to a valet!!
No Valet is getting my car............not going to happen, Maybe I'm paranoid but if they need money that bad they will get less of Mine as I'll go elswhere. It just isn't worth it to me!!!

If it were my car, I'd park it myself. If you want the protected parking, tip them a bit and get them to let you park it yourself in the valet parking area.
Last night ran up to the casino. The self parking is really tight so I got in line in vallet. Asked if I could park it myself and handed the guy a ten. He said I still have to ask the manager. Manager said no so I said that’s fine but I’m riding along. I have a Hurst Short Shift so the guy had a hell of a time finding 1st and stalled it Yes Three Times! I pulled the brake up and said I think he should go for the ride. He agreed and the manager that saw what happened said “sorry” as we swapped places back to my but in my seat. The cool thing was the Vallet gave me my ten back. I kept my keys. It’s up to you but if I had a date I would not let them take it.
My son used to valet in Vegas and he tells some stories. Suffice to say that I don;t valet and he was one of the good ones. He learned to drive stick in England and has always driven stick. Some of the kids had no clue. Its a long way to many of the valet parking slots and time is of the essence. Those cars move when they're taking them down and back up. I wouldn't want my Vette making that journey
They work hard and try to do the best but some customers don't make it easy. In Vegas its at least $10 if you want to stay up front. At busy times he had the top slots full and even $20 wouldn't guarantee the slot. A couple of bucks is a risk.
To really scare you, his best story was of the attendant who launched a brand new Viper over a concrete kerb and landed it into a stack of 5 cors. One of them was his own illegally parked car
He split the transmission on one Camaro by taking the ramp too quickly. ironically it was our own car on a private trip to the MGM
Your call
Probably haven't valet more than five times at any casinos in Vegas. You definitely changed my thinking somewhat. Think i will take the truck when the occasion arises...
I dont normally valet, but it depends on the place. There are a few places around here, that I have no problem giving it to the valet. If i do, I definately always tip the guy parking my car as I get out. For a few bucks, you can usually request to have it left out front.
Well ladies and gents I work down town sf. My plant is located right next to a big giant parking lot right where the vallets from down town park customers cars. Well that parking lot is 2 blocks away from where customers leave their cars so they have no idea what goes on when they take off to park the cars. These guys drive crazy!!! I mean they speed down this one way street 50mph and sometimes do crazy crap in the lot! I have seen a dude flip a 330CI bmw and then reverse peel it right into a tight spot.
Also alot of times the pull up so tight they bump the car against another so they can get the most space out of the lot.
I have seen this done with 2 brand new SLK's the tiny sharp lookin benzos!!!!!
I give em credit they are real good with parking em but damn if you only see what they do to these "nicer" more beefer cars you would never hand any of those guys your keys.
Yes these guys drive stick, they drove more cars then you guys can imagine in their lifetime but belive me when they get a key to a "sports" car your just making their day.
I would never let anyone vallet my car. i have heard to many horror stories from my friends who work at the parking lots. My cusin learned how to drive a stick at his first job as a vallet parker
