Will a key fob from a 97-99 work a 2000 sans the pasave entry function. The below was in one of the threads and it seems like it says it will. However, my 2000 fob is differently shaped from the 99 and earlier fob. I know the 01 and on will NOT work. Has anyone tried and does anyone know for sure? The fob on E-Bay for a 2000 is double the price as for a 99 or lower.
Key Fobs
There are basically two different kinds of key fobs, and they are not compatible with each other.
97-00, but 00 does not have the Passive Lock feature
01-04
I am just unsure now.
Thanks for the responses. Another friend has a 99 vert I gotta see if he will lend me a fob to see if it programs.

I don't think so.....
I'm a little surprised that the '97-'99 is cheaper than the '00. Usually the old ones with the passive switch are much more expensive! Keep looking....
wow; one would hate to guess wrong on this. do you know anybody with a 2k whose fob you could try to train for your car? might eliminate some of the guess work. there may well be a reason that the 2k fob is priced much higher. let us know. bub
