A while ago (6 mo), someone posted a source for small scissor jacks, from someone at daimlerchrysler, working in Germany. Are those still around? I will have to change the oil on my car, which I purchased in May here sometime..
Also, I want to paint my calipers, and maybe some other mods. What is required to get a 'vette on 4 jack stands in the garage? I have a floor jack, 4 jack stands, and I even have Rhino ramps that I purchased for a previous car. Besides making pucks (which I will do here soon) is there anything else I need? I'm guessing the regular floor jack doesn't fit underneath without raising it first. Can that be done with just rhino ramps and the regular jack, or do I need something extra? Are the rhino ramps really useful at all? I have heard it both ways... Are the aforementioned small scissor jacks really useful for home repairs, or are they just for emergencies?
Lots of questions, let me know if you have any experience with this. I do not own any wood tools (I bought the car, now all I can afford is bread, butter, and insurance), so I'm trying to find out what I can do without having to fabricate anything.
just go to sears and get thier racing jack works great . the way i do it is i drive up onto ramps then jack up rear using sub frame in the middle then some jack stands under each corner of sub frame . and then do the same to the front . sears also has jack stands . look for my thread guess what i did and you can see me doing my calipers . good luck and have fun.

Drive up on 4 2x12x16's, Jack front end first, from the cross member using a 2x6x23 on the jack. Set the stands on the 2x6 and then do the rear the same way. Remember to raise the rear 2" higher if your chaning the oil. I have the pucks but have never used them, just insurance if I have to go in for service. Good Luck!
