Speaking of info.........it would help as a new member to post your info so people here can look at your profile and see what you have. Your post gives no info, only poses a question. The more YOU share, the more YOU will get back. If you do not want to do your profile then you will be answering questions like: what year, what tranny, what mods, what gear....over and over again. So just some advice.......that's all.
C5's dont use a "chip". They use internal flash memory. If you want to reprogram the computer, I would have it "tuned"... or buy a handheld programmer if you want to go that route.
A lot of us missed our calling as comedians didn't we. What most of us do is usually start out with a different air intake, aftermarket exhaust and then headers to let it breathe a little better. It's not a must, but some as myself after this get a tune or actually a computer tune. This will usually give you 20 to 35 more hp at the rear wheels. Or, if you want to get the feel of 50 hp or so put some different gears in. I put 4:10's in my 6 spd and it made it get up and go a lot better. Just my 02.
You won't notice much if any difference with just an exhaust upgrade. Do
headers and exhaust and you will get a boost in the SOTP meter. Once
you've added these then you'll be ready for a H/C or/and blower should
you be so inclined.

Have a good tuner use an LS1 edit program on the car - you should see a nice difference.

I reprogrammed mine using a Diablo/Predator and I'm very happy with the results. It's not cheap, but very easy to use. An added bonus is that it will also display fault codes with a brief description and it will also clear them.

The rate of unemployment amongst comedians is excessively high and here you guys are trying to be one!
the forum can be a tough place, but they are right, you can't get a chip for a vette, best thing to do is have it Dyno tuned and with stock components, it isn't worth your money.
best way to get power is to start with the Intake (take you pick of any one of the million intake systems out there, then go headers and cat back exhaust. You'll need at least those mods done to make it worth the money for a dyno tune, and I would wait until you've done a head and cam package before a tune.
