My wife and I are going down to Bowling Green for the C5 C6 bash next April. Can anyone suggest the best holel to stay at ? We are looking for one with a nice restaurant bar within walking distance.
My wife and I typically stay at the Courtyard Marriot in Bowling Green. It is right on Scottsville road and within walking distance to a few good restaurants. The only downside is that it is about 6 miles from the Museum. For the Cruise-In most stay at the Baymont, off Scottsville road as well a few miles away.

We'll be at the birthday bash as well. It was a great time last year.

We were thinking about attending next year. What's the main draw other than the NCM? I saw several site-seeing cruises, autocross and drags listed on website. Anything like a mini-Carlisle? Vendors, etc?

To Clarify, this is about the C5 / C6 birthday bash not the Forum cruise-in. Generally a limited number of vendors (Like a mini, mini, mini, mini Carlisle.) Usually Mid America has a catalog presence, A dyno company, Breathless performance has been there, Mallett cars, Speed Lingerie etc. Probably 8 to 10 vendors. The NCM is the focus of the event (spoken like a true ambassador) The highlight for us last year was the Corvette racing banquet. Johnny O, Ron Fellows, Doug Fehan, Dave Hill, Gary Claudio and Gary Miller were in attendance. There is usually a celebrity choice car show, several presentations and clinics by the celebrities. We got a chance to meet and talk with each of them at length which was (for me) pretty awesome. Other than that, just a chance to catch up with friends that we see during our annual trips.

The "best" and probably priciest place is the Holiday Inn and Convention Center. It has its own restaurant (only open at certain times) and bar that quite a few people frequent after the banquet/Race Team Appreciation Dinner. Its also not far from Montana Grill which is a great restaurant. It is within walking distance but I think most people would probably drive to it.

The wife and I normally stayed at the Drury Inn, acroos Scottsville Road from the Baymont. Most of the good restraunts and bars are on Scottsville Road (I-65 exit 22) about 6 mi from the museum (I-65 exit 28).
We don't stay at the hotel any more, as we moved here (Scottsville) in February
My wife and I also stay at the Baymont. There are several good restaurants in the area, as others have mentioned, but nobody mentioned there is also a White Castle within walking distance, too. Also the mall isn't too far a walk if your significant other has had enough of cars for a while. It makes for a pleasant vacation and my wife enjoys going to Bowling Green every time (and not just because of the mall). If you haven't been there, if you've forgotten, there also tours of the plant where your car was born.
Thanks for all the advice, I can't wait for April. I've been an avid race fan for longer than I'd like to admit and have seen the the current Pratt & Miller C5R and then C6R team run several times at Road America. The chance to meet some of the team members in person is awsome, I hope they are included in the 2006 plans.

Paul, I am going to make it! So, make sure you call me when you reserve your room!
The party is at the Baymont, but I believe that the Hampton is right next door. It's a great time. Zuti
This is where all the fun is. We stay there every time we go to BG about 4 times a year. You will have as much fun at Baymont at night as you will have at the C5/C6 Bash in the daytime.
