I am not sure of his mods but I know hes boosting 21PSI.
How fast are these things at that boost?
My mods :

can you drive? don't take that the wrong way
are you going from a dig or a roll?
does he have exhaust, intake, anything ported, any tuning device such as a stand along, AFC, VPC, ect. is he on the stock turbo?.
if you can drive you will win if you go from a roll, but if you go from a dig you will be playing catch up for quite some time since he will put about 4-5 cars cause he will hook up instantly and you will play the spinning game.
one of my friends has a evo with the boost turned up, exhaust, and an intake and went high 7's in the 1/8 and like 12.0 in the 1/4. but he drove the snot out of it. plus his was a facotry freak cause it was way faster than it should have been.
He might crack into the 12's, but barely, and he'd have to launch the crap out of it. It really depends how much your friend will beat on the car. If he drives it hard. You should be real close in the 1/4. But they have to launch over 5500rpms to not bog. So it's a drivers race in the 1/4.
PS: That really is a factory freak. He should be in the mid-high 12's, mid 12's driving the snot out of it.
seriously though, i dont know much about the cars, but i think STOCK boost is like 19psi. boost # isnt everything though, you would need to know his other mods.
it would be a cool race, but you would def. lose from a dig. roll him on the highway, he might pull at first, but i think you can catch up and pull top end on him.
the 4wd rips from a stop. i have a vid of an evo racing a lingenfelter vette, from a stop the evo took a pretty big jump, however when the vette stopped spinning (around 3rd gear) it smoked him.
i know that a stock vette can take a stock evo even fron a stand still, but i know fron having and modding a WRX which is a similar car that a little work on thoes things goes a long way, also, what number evo is it, their is big diferenve between an evo III and an evo VIII.
I'm sure it's an VIII since the others are really hard to get registered here. Stock the EVO's run around a 13.3-13.4 stock. But not alot of drivers have the juevos to launch their cars at 6500rpms.
Yeah, he's gotta be willing to lauch hard... my buddy who had a fixed Viper always used to tell me that TT Supras wanted to run him from a roll (when the turbos were spooled up) as opposed to going from a stop... but the Supras of course didn't have awd...

Ran a slightly modded one last Wednesday at Englishtown had to chase him down and finally caught & passed him, he ran a 13.06 @ 103.67. There were two very modded ones running mid elevens
ahhh... another reason to say yes to the head/cam package... or maybe I should brake the emergency glass handle for a nos bottle. either way im not racing him full stop roll/ or nothing.
Reason I am asking all this ...today I smoked a guy in a prelude this of corse being on a racetrack and all.. so his passenger rolled the window down telling me that I should race him he smokes vettes all day!
that lil comment got me juiced maybe I should burrow my neighbors Z06 for that next challange lol and tell him I had my car painted.

I recently posted a thread about a run in with an Evo. It got locked up quick because the story happened on a public street. I dont want to get your thread locked up by retelling it, so I will be very vague. Oh the silly games we play.
I have a slightly modded A4 C5. Intake and exhaust and Lowered. Just suffice it to say I have never been challenged since last April when I bought it...so I was shocked to see a boxy looking ricer prompting me to race a couple weeks ago.
If I tell the story then I will be crossing the race line here, so let me just say dont race one of those things unless you know it isnt modified. They are ridiculously fast for four bangers. I should have known that somebody in a rice=like ride wouldnt challenge me unless he had a good reason to think he could humiliate me.
It was very close, but I came away with a lot of respect for the Lancer Evo. That thing can accelerate!
I wont ever race again unless its on a closed race track where nobody else will be at risk.
Mods...hope that wasnt too explicit! If so...delete me at will!

Take him to a track and go for it. Worst that can happen is you lose, but you could have a blast in the process. Those EVOs are damn quick little cars.
Just say no to these ricers. It takes too long to overcome the AWD advantage. By the time you catch them you will be going way too fast at the "race track" These overboosted farting time bombs are a pox on the "race track". Yeah, I really got smoked by an sti dammit.
He is probally saying he is stock with just a boost controller but i dought it. I own a import shop here in Mass and all i work on is the 4g63 and they make a lot of power with very few bolt-ons. Just a little example i just finished an evo with exhaust(turbo back), air filter, dsm link, and cams. The car on the awd dyno made 402whp. My daily drive is a 99fwd talon with 3k in mods and the car made 423 whp and my vette has no chance of touchong that car. Thats why i'm looking into a blower for the vette. If you're local to MA let me know i'll take a look at the Evo and let you know what it has.
Thanks Steve
