Default Engine Compartment Chrome/Polished SS

Modding my engine compartment with "bling" and have some problems and questions relating to alternator, idler/pulley, etc. covers. First how does the mix of PSS and chrome covers work? Do they appear similar enough or clash? Second, I've tried to install the CEC idler/pulley chrome cover but couldn't get it to align properly because the right side bottom was restricted by the water pump housing. The cover wouldn't align correctly. All of you guys with engine compartment bling please share your experience, it will be appreciated.

Most people can not tell the difference between chrome and pss. As far as the fit did you call CEC? I found that every cover I got from them was great with the best fit. I have not got the idler/pulley from them yet so I cant tell you how this one works. But we have more people with a lit more bling then me.

I've had just about everything they offer for the C5 at one time or the other Never had a problem with any of their products. If you're having a problem with the cover just call Bill at CEC and he will get things straightened out for you As far as the PSS and chrome combo goes, there is a slight difference in appearence to me. The only thing to consider is that the pss scratches very easily

Please remember the are difference in the 2003 and the 2004. The 2004 requires a different alternator cover, idler arm cover than the 2003. The pulley on the passenger side of the car is also different.

have gradually replaced most of the pss with chrome from CEC...the scratches on the pss fender covers were the worst

Default Chrome Idler Pully Cover

I just installed my chrome Idler Pully cover that I bought from Bill and Brenda at CEC and it fits perfectly. Initially, I failed to tell them that I have a 2004, so they didn't send the extension bracket I needed to make it fit. One week later, I received the bracket in the mail and now everything is fine. Chrome and CEC are the only way to go, don't mix them either all chrome or all pss. That's from a "GB Vette Wanna Be"..heheheh

Can you tell me where you purchased the chrome stripes on the bottom of your FRC's? I have the Corvette letters from SS Inserts but can't find the bottom strips like you have. My FRC's are painted magred with black carbon fiber and I'm in the process of changing to SS.
Thanks a million?

Go with the chrome. On day 1 they will look close but one year later you will definitely tell the difference. It's a pay me now or pay me later deal.
