Whats the difference between the B1 & B2. I got the B1 for my 04 and after 8 hours of tinkering could not get it to fit properly. Took it off sold it and got a K&N FIPK2. Got a new Vette and wondering if I should try it again.

The B2 worked fine on my 01 coupe. It took a little more than 2 hours to install. Everything was a pretty tight fit, I did have a great write-up from another member here, but I forget who it was.
I just got done installing my vararam. Came w/ the new filter. It was a real pita, but, I think it was worth it. I called vararam last week and asked what the difference between the B1&B2 was. They said absolutly nothing....

The shape of the "plenum" was changed on the B2 to limit the possibility of water entering the intake. Mine fit no problem on my '01. It looks a little "cheap" at first, but once you get it in, you can't see anything. The other big complaint about the VR is the cheesy filter. Apparently they've just come out with a Green K&N-type filter. I was VERY happy with the performance gains on mine, and was sad to see it go when I got my Tigershark front end.
They just did away with the Foam filter and now have a K&N style green filter that comes with the B2. I am thinking about getting it now since they solved the water intake problem and it comes with better filter. There is a supporting vendor here in the parts section that has the new set up on sale for I believe $310.
