HELP. E-Brake Problem.

HELP. E-Brake Problem.
I decide to take the Vette this morning. Have not driven it in weeks. I push in the e-brake button to release it and the button pops out about 3 inches. Now it will not stay up and the button is hanging out. Any one have this problem or know the fix. Thanks JL
