The first thing you need to do is remove the wiper arms.
Turn on the ignition, and set the wiper switch to intermittent, let em sweep
once, then turn the key off. This leaves the wipers in the "undocked"
position. Take 2 pieces of tape, and stick them to the windshield where the
wiper blades end...this is just so you can align them later. Pop the round
trim plugs off the arms, and remove the (13mm I think) wiper arm nuts. It
may take some wiggling back and forth to break the arms loose off the
splines. A small puller could be used if they are really stubborn, mine
popped off quite easily.

with Tom,

They will come off. You will need to wiggle them. Both in the direction of travel (if you will) and up and down. If you can try using two hands and try moving the upper part of the arm side to side with one while pulling up from the shaft with the other.

Unfortunately the little black plastic caps aren't able to waterproof the mounting nut, and sometimes water tends to sit in that little "well" where the nut is, resulting in corrosion. If at first you can't wiggle the arm off, try squirting a little penetrating oil (like Kroil, or Pennelube for example) and let it sit for a few minutes. HTH
