No experience with Bling....personally I would deal with TL electronics only because Tuan has been a longtime CF member.

Hope it all gets sorted out soon.

Unresolved disputes

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Forum allows a factual post on an unresolved dispute with a vendor or another member once all efforts to resolve the issue offline have been exhausted. Then, the post must be factual and cannot be used to bash the vendor or the member. Once the post has been made, it cannot be repeated in other sections or on other days.

Moderators will try to leave such threads open until everybody with direct knowledge of the issue being addressed has had a chance to provide their version of the facts. The thread must not become a running debate on the accuracy of the “facts” and may not deteriorate into an exchange of personal attacks. Neither should be used as an opportunity for speculation by those who do not have direct knowledge of the issue.

Once there has been the opportunity for the facts on all sides to be posted, the thread will be locked. It will remain in the database and will be available for review by those who are researching the topic, vendor or member.

The Forum is not in a position to monitor transactions or to determine the “true facts” in most disputes. Upon request, however, the Forum will try to intervene and mediate a settlement suitable to all parties in a dispute. When issues are resolved in the matter, it will be posted to the original dispute thread so it becomes part of the searchable record. We believe that is a more useful record of performance for potential customers than would be an eBay-style rating system.

As has been our past practice, members or vendors who show a pattern of unresolved issues will be removed from Corvetteforum.com.

Haven't been around in a couple days and this is a huge surprise. The buyer (half-life) contacted me for a set of HIDs and told him to go through the website so all his information can be gathered in the system and it will be organized on file.
He asked if I could send it to an address other then his bill to address. As instructed in our emails that is alright but payment would have to be by Money Order by mail. He sends a personal check and eventhough usually we don't take personal checks because its a Vette forum member I told him its ok. What was not ok was he took part in an expired group buy that I told him he could and combinded it with another discount offered to people who pay by money order without asking if this is alright and combined it was less then we would ever sell a kit. He just send a payment, which is short but I also let it pass but never again.
How in the world would I have gotten his address unless it was given to me? The address the item was shipped to was the address provided as the ship to address he placed in the website. He could have put any address in system when payment is by mail but that is the address used and that is the address the shipping clerk in the warehouse sees.
Numerous emails are received every day asking for a tracking number and I kept repeating please allow a week for the check to clear before the item can ship. Once cleared item shipped to the provided address. Once he receives the item and immediately sends an email telling me off real nasty and personal about how it should have went to the shop. Personally I wanted to reply but I thought it best not and I haven't heard from him after that for several weeks.
Then I get a flurry of emails saying buddy pal I needs a new ballast. True, the normal procedure is to send it to the CA office but because he was close and in a rush I told him to send it to me. Once received I realized the only replacement ballast in stock was in a different color and I asked if this was OK otherwise the matching ballasts will be in stock in a week or so. He said he was in a rush and didn't mind so it went out UPS to the only address on file. The request to overnight it was after it had already been forwarded to the warhouse. The was the last I heard from him.

Half-Life:
first of all, im not taking sides here... just want you to know that.

now, was i one of the people refering you to buy Bling's kit? the price of 300 shipped? Jason helped me out, and im trying to help him out! i am VERY happy with my HID kit. i have been doing research on HID kits since 3 yrs ago. Bling's kit is one of the best that i have used! not to mention, Jason was a huge help to me and many of my friends of whome i have refered to Bling. All of them have been thoughly satisfied.

Now the issue of your time frame. it looks like it has only been 1 week??? please correct me if im wrong. but shipping alone for me took 1 week. how do u expect to get it all done within 1 week? why did u leave it till the last minute and plan for your trip?

and another thing...i also had an issue of one of the ballasts not working, but it was b/c i needed to reverse the polarity. it was a very simple mistake, easily fixed in like 2 minutes! Blings kit should work if they are new and you could tell if they are new or not.

I feel is Jason is being this helpful to you, accepting a personal check even though he is not suppose to, giving you a price lower than 300 shipped, and going off good faith to ship you backup ballasts...all of this tells me he is trying to help you. i have not seen anyone else have a problem with Bling's kit. but a ton who have been very happy with his kit...

i sincerely hope you get it all worked out. i KNOW jason is awesome, and he will help you out.

good luck!

Half-Life took the price I know he got from you and then took another discount off that price. Also that whole 24 Hour time frame break down is not correct.

Jason - thank you for responding. I wish to comment on some of your claims.

The only discount I took advantage of was your expired offer that you extended to me - free shipping for CF members – and I thank you. Secondly, this claimed “another discount” you state I should not have taken was for $10 for not making payment through Paypal – this discount appears during the checkout procedure on your own website. If I’m not making payment through Paypal and you’re not being charged for it then I don’t understand why you’re saying I did something wrong? As for the personal check issue, I did not ask whether you would take personal checks as I was going to send a money order but you told me about your personal check holding policy yourself as illustrated in your email below:

Andy,

When you get your invoice just subtract the shipping cost yourself. Mention you are a corvette forum member with payment. For personal checks payment must be held for at least 1 week. With payment include a print out of your invoice. Please send payment by mail to;

BlingLights
PO Box 901
Alpine, NJ 07620
USA

thank you

Jason,

I would like to send in payment by mail and include the shipping address of my body shop. I just tried ordering on your site but it is charging me for UPS shipping. Is there a discount code I should be entering? Also, what is your address I need to send the check to?

BTW, I've decided to go with the HID 6000k kit instead.

Thanks,
Andy

Jason, when purchasing an item on your website customers are required to log-in or if a new customer, to register. During registration, it is required for new customers to enter their billing address – not a ship-to but rather a billing address. This is the only time I entered my home address.

Jason, I did not rush you in any way, shape or form. Once I made the initial purchase we did not have contact for two weeks. When I finally did email you, that was when I asked whether the shipment was made and asked for a tracking#. If you have any evidence showing otherwise, please post. Also, is it not normal to receive a tracking# when making an online purchase?

As stated in my original post - when I received the UPS shipping notice at home I emailed you to inform you what happened so perhaps you might want to let your shipping dept know for future reference in case another customer has a similar request. Nowhere in the email was I nasty, derogatory and least of all personal. If you have evidence showing otherwise, please post. Again, as stated earlier, at that point I was still waiting for the backordered C5R lights so there was no reason for me to be upset.

On Tues I sent you one email telling you about the faulty part, you responded, then I. I don’t understand how that would be defined as a flurry. Not in any of my correspondence with you did I ever refer to you as buddy nor pal, I do not view those terms as appropriate when conducting a business transaction - I simply referred to you as Jason. I have bought and sold items with fellow CF members and not once have I not been courteous.

As I had posted originally, I had asked if you could ship the ballast overnight. This was after you had told me you were already sending it the day before. I did not get a response from you until late in the evening. So the following morning (Fri) I asked for you to ship for Saturday delivery being that at that point I was desperate. You did not supply me with a tracking number until Friday evening and it was shipped UPS Ground.

I just noticed above you wrote the ballast was shipped to the only address on file. Are you saying it was shipped to my home and not the body shop as I’d twice asked?

AJ - I understand you're not taking sides and I don't view it as such, thank you for your reply. For some time now I have been wanting to get the C5R kit as well as BlingLight's HID kit, then when the accident happened I figured it was the perfect time to do it. You didn't refer me to BlingLights but I did see your recent posts regarding your lighting setup.

I know it seems like shortsightedness on my part to plan a trip so soon, but the car is is actually completely finished - all body panels painted and polished, SW kit aligned to the body, even the PIAA fog lights have been installed and aimed. The very last leg of the repairs is plugging in the HID kit. The faulty ballast was not discovered until Tues morning. You might also think why I didn't just stick in regular halogen bulbs for the trip and install the kit when I return? I asked my installer about that and he said it would take him alot of work to disassemble, remount and align the SW kit again. I don't know exactly what is involved so I take his word for it. Since you installed the kit yourself (and I recall you said it took over 20 hrs) perhaps you can confirm.

Additionally, BlightLights is in Northern NJ - just 22 miles away from my installer in NYC. It takes Priority Mail one day for delivery, I believe it takes regular mail 2 days at the most. If I knew Jason would delay in shipping out the part I would've picked it up myself.

Prior to ordering from BlightLights I have seen nothing but praises for Jason and his company. Perhaps I am the only dissatisfied customer but I think I have a right to be as I've tried to show.

Jason, the check I'd sent to you was for $289.99 The breakdown:

$299.99 - as listed on your website
-$10.00 - for non-Paypal payments (discounted during BlighLights' checkout procedure)
$0.00 - free shipping offer for CF members

That is all, I did not deduct any further amounts. Please do not make further false accusations.

You claim the time frame breakdown is not correct. Each email I've referenced is time stamped. Upon request I can forward them to you and the CF administrators for review.
