Black exhaust tips?

Black exhaust tips?
I am planning on upgrading the exhaust soon. Unfortunately I have no chrome (or anything shiny) on the car at this point and I am afraid that the stainless/chrome tips just wouldn't look right.
Is there any reason that the pipes/tips that are visible (everything after the mufflers) couldn't be painted (high temperature paint) or powder coated?

I had painted Borla tips on my 95 Impala SS (just high temp engine paint)...
I'm planning on having my FRC's Corsa tips powder coated, as it'll be a lot more durable (the SS tips required touch-up's from time to time).
