Default Deck lid latch on vert.

I have a 04 vert that I can never get the deck lid open unless I shut the door after hitting the release button. I have already had the dealer replace the activator but didn’t help.
Can any direct me to any old threads on the subject?
Thanks

If you mean that the lid is to low and you cant get a finger under it after you pop it , then lube all moving parts latches , hinges ect. with some gun oil , 3 in 1, ect. In a pinch you can also use wd40 but that lube will not last long. Then on either side of the lid there are small rubber bump stops adjust them a bit out ,a quarter turn at a time and check each side of the lid closed so as to not make it too high from the body .

1998-2003 Convertible: Trunk Door on Convertible Won't Open All The Way

Yours being an '04, I would think it would still be under warranty. If so, I'd suggest taking it to your dealer to have it looked at and fixed. Good luck.

Thanks everyone. After a little more research on the forum I did find some old threads about this issue.

Or you could move to Florida where it stays warmer all year, that way it won't be a problem. Mine always pops right up unless it's cold out! btw, nice pic!

Squirt a little WD40 on the latch mechanism about once every 6 months and no problems since.

I, too, took mine to the dealer and all their efforts did nothing. A little lube goes a long way.
