Default headlights come on early

I think my '02 headlights come on too early in the evening. Is there a way to check the photo cell, and where is it at.

It's up in the dash vent area. The sensor on the left side. I agree that they come on early. So I bypassed mine and a friends with a 1.8k ohm resistor. Easy fix. Just pry up around the vent with two small slot screwdrivers and the vent comes out with the sensor attached. I think it's a quarter twist and the whole thing comes out. Tie a piece of thread to the wiring so you don't lose it by inadvertently dropping it into the dash. I did that and left it there till I put the gauge bezels in and retrieved the wiring then and taped it to the vent. Remove the harness from the sensor and replace the sensor with the 1.8k ohm resistor and your done. You then turn your lights on with the switch like in the old days.

I'm confused with the whole "resistor" mod? I just turned my twilight off in the onboard computer. Then the only way they come on is with the switch.

Sorry I forgot!! Up here in Canada we can't turn off the sentinel. So we bypass the sensor instead.
