GMPP quoted me $4400 for 4 more years and or 30K more miles...
I went with WD.com and got 7 more years and or 60K more miles for $1970...
The main difference I was told was that GMPP can be used at any ASE cert. shop and any GM stealership...
But I used my WD policy twice this year and had no issues. The only thing I learned was that WD has their own book of "reasonable" costs for parts and labor costs... i.e. on a $800 repair, I paid $80 of it...
I thought GMPP covered all repairs like a bumper to bumper warranty, but its doesn't... they have their exclusions too.
I would definitely recommend Ken Finchner. I bought my GMPP extended from him years ago, and couldn't be happier. He gave me all the different possible price scenarios, quickly answered all my questions, and yet refrained from any high pressure sales pitch. His prices would be hard to beat.
I wouldn't buy anything except a GMPP Major Guard with a 0$ deductible. If you are going to play the game, then play it all the way.
I would also highly recommend Ken Fichtner's dealership for a quote. I just bought one from Dennis Fichtner on a used 05 Astro van I just bought. The price was quite reasonable and less than half what the GMC dealer I bought the van from quoted. Every dealer is free to quote whatever price they want to for GMPP. As a result, the price varies wildly from dealer to dealer.
