I bought a G-Tech Pro performance meter last week - should be delivered today. Does anyone here use it with their vehicles? If so, do you find it to be fairly accurate?
While I don't own one, I have spoken to several people that do. The only real complaint I hear about the unit is the 1/4 mile speed result. Basically dragstrips avg the last section (trap speed), while G-Tech takes one reading at the end. They say they end up with a speed that is technically too high compared to real world.
I have several of the Gtech pros, in my viper, c5 and motorcycle. They can be accurate but the key is calibrating them by this i mean there is an option for the weight of the car the can be really far off for an accurate reading there are other options such ar roll and sway. if you go to a dyno find out your actual rwhp the play with the number you can get it right , then at that point you can easily tell if a mod you have done to the car actually helps, same for the track if you take the time to play with the number it can be great.
I have one and hardly use it. There is no good place to run a 1/4 mile so it's really only good (to me) for 60', 0-60 and 1/8th mile times. I'd be willing to part with mine. PM me if intereseted.

Damn...I wish that I spoke with you before I ordered mine at full price.
I'v used a Vericom 2000 for 10 years, and find it head and shoulders above most others. There are a few different set ups as far as how the acceleromaters or load cells work in the various units out there. I saw a good write up on them 4 years ago or more. Can't remember squat now. You can't do better for a before / after mod check. Easy as pie. Have fun with it.
BTW - Havent used mine in a year.
