Installed column lock simulator, Pull Key Wait 10 seconds?

Installed column lock simulator, Pull Key Wait 10 seconds?

Any idea why I'm getting this on the dash? When I first start the car it will say this and if I ignore it and go to leave the car shuts off until I pull the key and wait 10 seconds and try again....

Tried pulling fuse 25 like it says maybe I should do it with the key out next time?

I got the same thing, I had to "reinstall" about 3-4 times to get it to work. also try leaving the fuse out for several minutes to "clear" the code. outside of that, i don't know.

But once it's fixed it's done? becuase I don't feel like removing the panel over and over to get to it and undoing the zip ties etc...

I only get the message when my battery is weak. Is your battery new or old ?

I have read that some 98 and 99 models have a problem with the CLB.

I also have a 98 and I tried the CLB and it just wouldn't work, I kept getting the same message as you. There was a note with the CLB and it stated that it may not work on some 98 and 99 models with automatics. I took mine to the dealer and they did the factory recall, installed a K-harness and relay, and removed or did something so the column does not lock anymore and now I don't get that message anymore, problem solved. Good luck!

I have a manual, I'll try fooling with it later

I have an optima battery I don't think it's weak but maybe ???

Knock wood, I have a '98 MN6 and the CLB works fine. I installed the CLB after the dealer did the recall. As the sticky says, the recall for MN6's is completely independent from installing a CLB.
