Just bought new rims from Houston's. Had them installed on Saturday and Sunday morning RR was flat. Service station a block a way, filled it up with air (sensor is reading) and I could hear air around the valve stem area. Returned to Mechants and was told that valve stem just wasn't in tight enough. They tightened it and I drove off a happy camper. This morning on my way to work, of course I was flat again.
Of course I'm pissed and loaded for bear. When I return to Merchants this afternoon, is there something I should be looking for, saying etc. The tire pressure sensor in the tire seems to be working okay, because it tracks the pressure leaving the tire. Is there some kind of gasket/O Ring that should be replaced?
The beadd may not be properly sealed... that would be my guess.
Another possibility is that they damaged the tire bead during the install.
I had that happen on the install of by GoodYear GS-D3s last year...
Thre was a tear to the rubber in the bead area that cause a drop of 2 lbs/day....
When I got my new wheels, and they installed my old pressure sensors on the new wheels. 2 of them leaked. They had to order a rebuild kit, whick is really just a new set of rubber washers. thats fixed it.

Did they replace the o-rings on the TPS when they swapped wheels? You should always change them out as well. There is a small o-ring at the base of the TPS where it meets the rim. You might be able to sock it down just a bit more but be careful. I had a similar problem when I changed wheels. I knew that we put new o-rings in but the installer didn't tighten down the nut enough (I don't remember what the proper torque is ) and it was causing the leak on one tire.
