Ever since i took possession of the vette it has had squeaky brakes. I have tried everything from lubricants to ceramic pads w/ new rotors. With the ceramic pads the squeak stopped for a while...but it is slowly coming back. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if it correlates to a specific year. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix the squeak please let me know.
Other factors that i think may affect the brakes would be the Florida climate and/or the calipers (though i doubt it). I have had the ceramic pads for only about 300 miles so maybe they are still considered "new".

The "squeak" is basically a very high pitched vibration and may happenn for many reasons.......(1) rotor/pad surface may have a glaze on them: pads may need replacement and rotors resurfaced/replaced,(2) brakes may have been overheated,(3) pad-to-hardware surfaces may be dry contacting each other:lube all metal-to-metal contacts,(4)rotors may have small lines in them too hard to see to the naked eye(think about a musical record disc): rotors may need resurfacing.(5) Getting grease or fluid on the rotors and pads(6) Not allowing the pads to "break-in" will cause squeaks. 8-15 medium stops with a 1 minute idle rest in between, then brake EASY and GENTLE for 100-200 miles is a good break in time.
