Default Recommendations for wheel locks

Well .. I purchased my new baby last week, an 01 QS/black z06 and upon attempting to pull the front tires to lower it on stock bolts the other night I found the lug nuts were gunned on at I am guessing about 120lbs. The 4 regular lug nuts came off with some added leverage but the ( I am guessing) factory locking lug nut almost stripped I was able to take it off without too much issue but I refuse to put that crap back on! So I am looking for a lock set that will fit the factory rims and have more than 1/4" of bite on top of the lock. Thanks in advance

Default House of Wheels

Bob's House of Wheels, they're a supporting vendor and will sell you a set of chrome lugs with a set of locks for cheap...

I got a set 6 months ago and have been very pleased with them. Chrome is of excellent quality...

I don't think there were "factory" locks, just ones that dealers installed (and probably cheap ones at that.)

Why bother?
If they want your wheels they'll take the whole car and take what they need where they can jack it up without a problem. Put the $35 in the tank and drive it!

My '04 Z came with dealer installed locks (purchased June 04). I believe they are McGuard's and until this point, the chrome still looks new when cleaned and they match the lugs fairly well and don't jump out at you. I havent taken the wheel off myself and I dont think the dealer has yet, so cant say how the key itself and lock holds up after use. The key looks fairly solid and is similar to a socket, so it should hold up with use if not misused. I probably would have put on locks also if they weren't already on the car (if nothing else - to discourage the non professional thief and neighborhood teens, etc. and provide some sense of security even if a false one). If your still interested I can try to find the McGuard Part number for you.

Thanks for the info guys. My car came with the "caps" over the lugs and are of a goldish metal with an open end design (which I think is the problem the area the lock sits in is very small) I am not sure if they are mcgards or not but it is NOTHING like the design I see on their web site.

Evolution thanks for the kind words bro took me a long time to find one
