02 6 Speed had column lock recall done in 04, even though it never locked up.
A couple days ago, it locked up but the engine started. SHut it off and jiggled it for a couple minutes before it came loose. Works fine now.
Thoughts, opinions, suggestions?
Thoughts....I can't believe I'm still seeing threads like this
Opinions....It will lock up again without the CLB and anyone that has this happen to them after all that has been said here on CF .... well, there's just no excuse! You have been warned!
Suggestions... Get a CLB!
The GM recall will not fix the problem on a C5 with a MN6....

I appreciate the info, particularly the pleasant manner in which it was conveyed by a couple of you. Maybe some day I'll be as pleasant and smart as everyone else.
I just met a gut today who has a manual tranny C5 and recently suffered the column lock gremlin at Eureka Springs. He had the stealership fix, only to see it bite again last week. He's now getting someone to put in the CLB.
My 2001 had the recall done twice by the previous owner.... I had a service Column Lock message the first week of ownership... I put on a CLB and it has been flawless since
I just got my 03 AE a couple months ago. It's had the recall, but I've read too many horror stories already about the Column Lock problem. I've ordered the CLB...how much of a trick is it to install? Do I need to find an independent master mechanic to do the work?
Thanks..

If you have a six-speed...Remember...there are only two kinds of Corvettes...those that HAD their column lock up...and those that WILL have their column lock up!!!!!
