Default Homelink

I would like to install a homelink tranmitter in my visor of my 2000 C5. Where can I purchase a transmitter? I have seen them on ebay but would prefer to purchase new so I get the exact color I am looking for and know it is in good working order. Are there instructions on removing the visor from the from the body of the vehicle? The install of the transmitter in the visor looks fairly straight forward but was wondering if there were any tricks that people have learned? Thank you in advance.

I bought three of them on Ebay, 35 to 40 each. These were in visors for other cars, but the transmitters are the same.

As much as I hate to agree with him He is right, head over to e-bay and grab one there. One of the best and easiest mods you can do for your Vette.

I purchased one from a local auto junk yard. It came out of a Nisson. They charged me $40 for it. Works great. Don't worry about the color---you can spray paint the bezel any color you want. Good luck---it's really a cool add on...

Visor removal

Homelink visors on eBay

Just one other thing to be aware of, if your garage door uses rolling codes make sure you get a Homelink that also does. Any transmitter they made from '97 on will work, '96 might, '95 and earlier won't. You can also tell by looking at the shape of the LED on the Homelink transmitter, if it is a triangle then it should support rolling codes.

I got a tan one on eBay from a 2000 Nissan and spray painted the cover black. It looks and works great.

LKQ auto is a good e-bayer Made a purchase from them 2 weeks ago, fast shipping, fair price, great packaging, and they leave feedback.

Is the home link battery powered or tied in to the car 12v system? Did you just pull the unit out of the visor and cut your visor to fit it?
