Ever since the day I bought my '04 coupe i have been regretting the A4.
Long story short:
I surfed around the internet looking for a dealer that had either an '03-04 C5 coupe/MN6. Found one upstate.
They offered 30K trade in for my car ('04 MY coupe/ 1sb - 11kmiles, glass top) for a '04 MY coupe, MN6 3k miles. The only differences between the two cars is the dealers has the cd changer and dual tops. They want 38 for it.
So the math is about a 8k difference between cars. That seems like way to much money to get the same year car. I know mine has 11k on it and this one has 3k but that shouldn't be that much of a diff right?
I reckon that gap is too big. Make him an offer if you're interested and then walk away. If he's hungry he'll get back to you, or else it's time to look somwehere else.
As for the change to MN6, this is something that I have never regretted. IMHO the MN6 is a 'proper' sports car, the A4 is for traffic jams.
Wait for the idignant explosion from the A4 brigade!
I have both and despite all of the comments from one side or the other I have to be honest and tell you there is really not much difference between driving the two. Sometimes the auto seems great and sometimes the manual. There is no way I would trade your car with low mileage for that kind of money difference or for that matter any money at all. You have the last year of the C5's and if the only thing you don't like is the trans believe me you will be sorry if you spend money to get one with a manual. 75% of the vettes made are autos and there is a reason for that. Just enjoy driving it-either is a wonderful car.
