Default headlight motor not turning OFF

After turning off headlight right side contiunes to run motor 21-29 seconds. why? Is their a sensor not being touch or what?

That happened to me once after having some work done on the front end and they concluded that the motor needed to be replaced.

Most likely the gear is bad which will cause this issue. Brass replacement gear is available which will solve the issue.

That happened to me once after having some work done on the front end and they concluded that the motor needed to be replaced.

Check out the sticky at the top of C5 Gen - there is a paragraph about the headlight gears....but here it is for your convenience.

Headlight gears
The gears in the headlight motor are plastic, and wear out over time. Ice, heavy Euro or projector headlights and twilight sentinal will cause the gears to wear out quickly. Fortunately a few years ago, Rodney started selling replacement brass gears, check out his website. Corvette America and probably a few other vendors now sell their own copy of his brass gears. Here’s a thread that shows how to replace the gears.
