Default C6 ZO6 shocks on C5?

A local shop owner said he has installed three sets of C6 ZO6 shocks on C5 ZO6s. He said the customers seem very satisfied, but I have not talked to any of them. Has anyone had any experience with the C6 Z shocks on the C5? I am currently considering the purchase of an '02 ZO6, and I expect shocks will be early on my list of service items. But I am reasonably sure I read the C6 suspension travel is greater, so it gives me doubts about this option.

It would be great for the price but the C5 Z06 shocks were designed specifically for the C5 Z06. I will spend a little more $$$ and get the C5 Z06 shocks for my Z06. JMO.

It doesnt have as much travel AFAIK, so dont lower the car with these shocks. I just ordered a set for my 2001 Z06. I think they will do fine.

Does anyone have information on the C6 Z06 spring rates vs the C5 Z06 spring rates? If they are similar simply in terms of front to back ratio, and the shock mounting points are similar, then it should be no problem.

I have not found the spring rates yet. I'd go with 04 Z06 shocks or Bilstiens before going with C6 Z06 dampers.

The only reason to go with the C5 dampers is that we dont know the spring rates for the C6. For all we know it could work well..

Realistically, the C5 and C6 Z06 are the same weight and probably have pretty close weight balance. I dont think it will be an issue. I am very nitpicky about a car's handling. When i get them installed i'll post back and note the differences.
