Default ChromeCo Inc.

First I had a problem with Performance Design Specialties and now it's this company. Anyone familiar with Frank at ChromeCo? I bought chrome hood hinges from him about two years ago and since then I got about 4 sets and they all got rusted in a short period of time. Of course I had to pay shipping each time and he never returned your phone call for at least a week. So finally I sent back the last set, after talking to him about a refund, about two months ago. I keep leaving messages and no response. I'm not sure how much he owes me because I can't find the original receipt, but it is $300 to $400, to be credited to my mastercard. The weird thing was today, when I called the #1-800-783-8388 and I get an operator message that this number(a totally different number then I dialed) has been changed to ----. So I called that number for the heck of it, and that new number is not in service yet. What is going on here?also when you got his message, it would say, blah blah finest corvette parts, but lately that was missing from the message; I guess he realized that he wasn't selling the finest parts. I've heard of other guys having problems with his quality of chrome. His address(Ihope) is still744n. Indiana ST. Elmhurst, Il. 60126. Is there anyone on the forum that knows this guy or lives near him, that could find out what is going on? Is he going out of business or trying to dodge customers. Thanks for any help! Doug

Doug, GEEEEZ!! Another jerk like Chuck Mars!! I think I would still call your credit card company even though there is a large time lapse. If you explain your efforts and maybe have some sort of proof (even if you don't). They are here to protect you and this is an understandable situation. You have worked with this business trying to solve the problem, this is why the time delay in asking for a refund. I hope all goes well, your pal Dale

Dispute the charges on the Credit Card and they will do a charge back to him.

I know this guy. I've bought chrome Z06 wheels, B +B mufflers and a few other things from him. He's also sold a lot of other stuff to other members of my Corvette club. He's always been honest and up front w/ me and any other people that have delt w/ him. Frank has been in business for many, many years and has a good rep in these parts. I haven't bought any thing from him in a few years, but, it's hard to believe that he's changed his good business practices. The last time I did business w/ him he did live in Elmhurst, IL.

I'll see if I can get ahold of him. Is it possible he went out of business or retired (he was/is a older guy). Give me a few days or so.

I don't mean to slam Frank but getting poor quality hinges that rust within 6 months and even sent me a new set that already had rust on them, what's a guy suppose to think. It was hard for him to answer messages and was never there when I called. I have been leaving messages for a month or so and now the lphone number is no good. I sent him his rusty hinges back when I bought new one from CEC. As soon as I find time during the day I will call mastercard and see what they say. They got my money back from Chuck at PDS. My buddy sent his chrome valve covers from his '69 and they still aren't done right. I bought chrome hood fasteners from him and when I had to remove them the chrome flaked off and I eventually got my money back on them. I have heard other people complain about the quality of his chrome. I would really appreciate you trying to contact Frank and give him my phone # 410-529-2342 Thanks alot, Doug Wilson Baltimore
