Default How to Remove Accessory Plug in Center Console?

Hey, I'm putting the switch for my QTP cutouts in my center console like this:

done by SilverC5inOhio.

Before I tear the interior apart, I was wondering what one has to do to remove the cigarette lighter? Do you have to cut it out or is it simply pushed into place? Thanks in advance!

I think there's just a thin nut that goes around it (behind the console) and keep it's in place.

Good luck Rob

Hey Rob-

Dang it... I was thinking of the one next to the ash tray... I took mine out to paint the console...

PM Stu- I know he's taken his out to paint it.

EDIT::::

Hey I found it in the manual...

"11. Disconnect the electrical connector from the electrical accessory plug.

12. Unscrew to remove the console electrical accessory plug retainer from the console electrical accessory plug housing.

13. Remove the electrical accessory plug housing from the console."

Hope this helps

it has 2 ears on it that engage in one slot in the center console. YOu turn it while popping 1 ear out, turn 180 deg pop other ear out. Pull towards rear of car while rotating to pop ear out

I was thinking of moving my cut out switch to the same location. What are you using as a filler around the switch?
