Default DIC Battery volts

What does your DIC say for battery volts when you turn on the key without starting the engine? I have a 04 thats a little over a year old. The battery has been sounding a little weak when I start it lately. Its not a daily driver and I have thrown a charger on it a few times lately, but my readout usually says: 11.7-11.8 volts. Is my battery maybe need to be replaced under warranty? Does GM just swap them out or prorate it towards a new one? From what I have read on the Forum, a lot of guys have had their battery replaced under the warranty. Thanks for your help.

11.4 volts is a "dead battery", 12.9 volts is a fully charged battery. You should try to charge yours.

My 03 reads 11.7 or 11.8 when I turn the key on and not start it. When the engine is running it is 13.8 to 14.2 range. Both these numbers match my hand held volt meter. You are fine, you will not register 12. something without the engine running.

Anything below 11.7 the battery should be replaced. At least have it tested before it takes out the alternator. My .02
