Default Long Tube Headers (again)

I know there have been many posts about LT headers and which are the best etc.
However, I am unable to use the search feature properly to find the posts I know I have seen.

What I am looking for is the best place to buy a set of LT headers for my Z06. I am interested in the LG or the Dynatech headers only.
I also thought I saw some interest in a group purchase for headers...

Please let me know who has the best buy.

LGs Pro Long Tubes can be bought from LG, and there are a few vendors who sell dynamax. The LG are lighter by 20 lbs, and there is a stcky in the wiehgts and measures about that, well it can be found there. A good read. There have been several GPS on LGS, dynomax and kooks, just need some timing. All have had positive results, but for my $ I went with LGs. Give Lou a call and they will take good care of you and you will be very happy!

The three brands mentioned seem to be universally recognised as the leaders. The LG are the lightest and seem to NEVER have any fitment problems. The really serious engine tuners and SCCA racers also seem to choose the LGs over the others because they produce POWER. I am doing headers next spring and will ONLY install the LG long tubes with high- flow cats, as they will release the most free HP and be free of fitment adjustment problems. My local Vette specialist says it the only choice and that he can really adjust my LS-1 Edit to take maximum advantage of the breathing. There are plenty of happy customers of the other brands too, and the savings are significant to some people, but the 'Ferrari' of Corvette headers is the LG, at least in my mind.

Thanks for all the info.
I was unaware of the weight differences.
Make the LG a bit of a better choice. Best in class performanace and lighter wieght.
Now , just need the "best" price.

FiberglassFan, I notice you are close to wher I live, who is your tuner?

I don't believe you can go wrong with LG headers, they deliver as promised!
Lou recently introduced another version of his headers, "C5 Street Headers"
that are lower in price and don't return quite as much in HP. You can check
them both out here.

I've got a set of LG Pro long tubes with Random Tech Cats and I've very happy! The exhaust had not fitment issues, I'd recommend them to anyone!

Fit, finish and installation of the LG's is second to none. As for claimed better HP than the competition I don't know. I have had them all but, did not dyno the various products, seat of pants I cannot tell a difference. Track times have remained consistant but I have not tuned for the LG's yet.

Just bouught and installed the LG's. I got a pretty good deal from them price wise and the headers were real easy to install. The hardest part was safely lifting the car in my garage. But it was easy, probably the easiest header install I've ever done. I've read a few posts of people begging for help, while installing the kooks. I'll tell you, it took 10 mins to get both the headers in place. Not installed just in there proper place w/ one bolt in each. As far as pwr, I can't really tell any difference, then again I haven't ran anyone or been to the track yet, so we'll see. So unless your out to save $200, I would go w/ the original LG's...

I have some lg pros that are practly brand new that I will be selling in a few weeks. Its the off road version with the 3'' x pipe. They have maby 3k miles on them. Instlation was a breeze and no fitiment issues. Installed in 3 hrs with no lift. Just look on the tech page at how well the kooks fit. They sound great with a very noticable hp gain. Hear them at http://www.digitalcorvettes.com/vide...0&ppuser=31317 The reason I'm getting rid of them is because I'm going with a pair of turbos. email me a reasonable offer if intrested at caminc5@sbcglobal.net

Thanks again for all the advice.
I was pondering haveing them installed or doing it myself.
You have given me a renewed hope to do it myself.
The actual install does not have me worried, It is my fat fingers and the tight spaces I will need to put them in when installing the headerbolts etc.
There did not seem like alot of room.
