I'm with Farmers Insurance - they asked me how many miles I would drive in a year in my y2k frc and used 4000. Costs $312 every 5 months. Live in mostly rural area with no tickets etc.
My insurance is $538/year on my 2001. That is with Erie Ins. $100 compehensive and $250 collision deductible. I have what they call "reduced usage" for any 3 months you choose, I pick Dec. Jan. and Feb. that you agree not to drive it.
Every state varies. In florida I pay about $972/yr full coverage for the oo vette. $1310 for the 77 vette, $832 for a 138K 96 mazda 626.& $900 for a 04 Vibe. This is with a 4 car policy, great credit & no accidents or points on license. I was quoted 465 with haggerty for the 00 vette with miles. I have Liberty mutual. I think the cost sucks but insurance co's are going nuts with all of the recent payouts . I don't know if I have a fair deal or not.(I think not) I called the ins. co & told them that the 00 is a pleasure vehicle only and they cut me a whopping $25 off the bill. The only variable I have is that my 27 y/o son is on the policy as a driver along with the wife.
I'm pretty sure Allstate let me insure my S2000 for < 5000 miles per year. My Corvette is insured for up to 7500 and I'm paying $233 / six months, full coverage, $500 deductibles. But I've got two other cars, my homeowners, and an umbrella liability policy with them as well.
we only pay full coverage for the 6 months it's actually driven. we get a 2 car discount, so I think that during those 6 months we add about 3-$400 for the Corvette.
I got a 3 year loan on my Vette' with another year to go. Been apart for more than a year and have about six months to go. Have had to pay premium insurance every minute of that. SUCKS!
Yup, State Farm here too! House, the Altima and the C5. The C5 runs about $650/yr (<7500 miles) with a $1k deductible. Now, I haven't received the renewal for the House and I expect a HUGE increase. Living in Florida is getting expensive!
If you can get USAA that is the way to go. With Multicar $$$ I pay 340.00 for my 04 vert!!
I also have USAA and pay about the same for my 99, most people jaw drop when they hear it....if you can get in to USAA do it, they are a non-profit company and send out dividend checks every year....
The accident rate is considerably less, that is why. Your average vette owner is older and less aggressive, more experienced behind the wheel, and more attentive to traffic, and thus less likely to have an accident. Not to mention the accident avoidence abilities in this car (Active Handling, TC, and good brakes) make it safer.
Grundy will insure a '99. Got mine for $389/yr w/ $25,000 agreed value, 3500 miles/year. You've got to send pictures, and sign declarations but it's worth it!!
