Help changing out accelerator pedal

Default Help changing out accelerator pedal

I have a '99 FRC and have a billet accel pedal but can't get the darn factory pedal off? Any clues on how to remove it???

I just changed mine out about a month ago. I believe there is a pin that has to be pulled out, but really can't remember for sure. Just get a mirror and flashlight and you should be able to see the mechanism that way. Hope this helps.

It is not that hard, promise. If you can get under there you will see spring that goes over the pedal arm. This spring locks onto the pin that holds the pedal on.

Unhook the spring and everything comes off.

Its faster to just remove the whole accelerator pedal assembley. Its two 13mm bolts and disconnecting sensor. This will give you much better look at pin.

I followed these directions - word of advise, get a mirror so you can see the back side of the pedal, it makes it a lot easier....

I didn't have any trouble getting the pin out with the help of a screwdriver, but the spring went flying and it took a few choice words and a lot of contorting my body to get it back in. The result is
