Does anybody know of any product that can be applied to the black convertible top to bring out a darker look. Mine is still black and not too faded, but I think that there could be a more "blacker" or deeper black to it. Let me know if anyone has any ideas.
Thank you,
Chris
What about the shiney spots that look like the top is wearing? Seems like it's scuffing when the top is down. Any fix for this? A towel maybe to keep the top from rubbing when it's folded. I haven't had the car that long so I'm just guessing here.
Try www.carcareonline.com. They have a product to to make your fabric look like new called Renovo Soft Top Reviver.I have used their cleaner and Ultra Proofer on my top and they are very good products.Youcan call toll free 877-796-8300
Some of the folks over in the Car Care Products section of the Forum may be of better help to you on this. Several very knowledgeable people and a few professional detailers hang out there. Good luck.

Five and a half years and 65,000 miles on my black convertible top. I tries the towel "trick" for about three of those years.
Didn't work, so I stopped bothering. Thinking about a suede brush on those spots, but just as soon leave it alone.
Mine is the white vinyl top but one of my friends has the black fabric top. When he cleans it he gets it good and wet with soap and water. Then he gets out the shop vac and vacuums the top. He says you wouldn't believe the dirt that comes out. The first time he did it he wet it down a couple of times and vacuumed to get all the dirt out. Then he uses the Raggtop conditioner to make it waterproof again. We were at a show and shine in the rain and we could see who's top was protected and those that were not. His beaded up just like the paint job did. The vacuum sounds like a great thing to do. I hope that helps you out.

Thanks for the update. The guy I bought it from also used a towel with no luck. This is the second top on this '98 with 87K miles. He drove it around with the top down most of the time in TX. I'm just trying to prolong the life of a very nice looking top with exception of the shiney spots which are on the sides.

Art -- they all have them -- it's just really noticeable on a black top.
