Thread for DIY shifter change out
I seem to recall someone on the forum posted a nice set of DIY instructions, including photos for changing out the C5 shifter for a C6.

"Patches" did a do it yourself install of a Hurst shifter. I think this is the one you are looking for.

If you are installing a C6 shifter you have to take out the whole shifter assembly and not just the shifter itself.

Here you go. The only additional item that I can add is that when you expose the C5 shifter, scribe the outline of the C5 shifter and place the C6 shifter in the same place. There is forward/backward adjustment and you need to hit the same location.
