Default Some advice please...

Looking to do some minor tuning and changes to my 04 Z06.
I did some reading and ended up with lots of info and plenty of confusion

I would like to control the fans
turn off CAGS
use the CAGS light as a shift light

some light tuning
read codes... and the other usual things...

I have a laptop if necessary... Will the predator do these things...

Thanks

You should be able to do most of those things with the Predator. The fans can be programmed to start at 185 degrees and shut off at 176. You can also stagger the fan start stop temperatures. The new Predators can eliminate the CAGS, but the older versions could not. You can also build a CAGS bypass.
If you want to do some light tuning, I would recommend a 5% timing advance. In addition, you may want to add some fuel under WOT power enrichment. You can always take it away.
A laptop software like LS1edit, EFIlive, or HPTuners are way more capable and can do all of those above plus more.
Good luck.

Reading codes can be done right from the drivers seat.

While holding the Options button in, tap the FUEL button 4 times... All the codes (if any) will scroll across the D.I.C. screen.

I doubt very much that you will get the CAGS light to act as a shift light, and if you really wanted to be looking there for a shift light, then you might as well just watch the Tach.

I know how to read codes... the skip shift light can and is being used by some as a shift light.
It is different than looking down at the tach trying to read a number... when you can catch the light in your peripheral vision. Would rather do this than hard wire a shift light...

If you go back to the shift light thread we are discussing the Raptor and watching videos of it in action. Pretty cool.

What thread is that?

I recently put a blue LED Raptor in my Z06, great mod! Really easy to see, even in bright daylight.

Raptor Shift Light

Took me about an hour to install, found the "how to do it" write up on the forum here to wire it in directly under the dash.

The Hud has a shift light in it. It always catches my eye when it pops up.

Could also just memorize the hud MPH that matches the rpm you want to shift at.
