I know we are more **** about our cars than most of the population but I'm curious if most of us DON'T use premium as well.

The question only applies to you if the mfg. recommends it for your vehicle. I read somewhere that the new C6's don't require premium but I've never confirmed that.

Remember, if you don't and you ever have a warranty fuel system problem your claim may be declined if there is evidence of non-premium gas use.

Besides premium, we also add acetone to the fuel, 2.5 Oz to 10 gallons. Increases HP and mileage by reducing surface tension of gasoline for better vaporization ....really works!!! Will be experimenting with xylene, which is an octane booster, sometime soon.

PS our gas in Oregon has ethanol added in winter months, which reduces the specific heat of the fuel, but prevents water build up in the tank.

PSS Techron is supposed to be just naptha, available at a tiny fraction of the cost of Techron. Anybody know for sure whats in Techron?

Jennifer, I've heard about the acetone thing... I bought some to try, but haven't yet. You REALLY think it works?

I was in the >80% group until one time I went to a dyno day when I wasn't 100% premium in the tank. I saw in black and white the difference and never put the cheap stuff in again.

Yep, I use mostly BP-Amaco, if I can’t find that I go with Sunoco.

Always. No reason not to. At a difference of 20 cents per gallon over regular, a fill up is only an extra $3.60. Cheap insurance IMHO
