Don't know the wattage of the system, it can't be much. But the door speakers have a 6 inch sub with it's own amp, and I believe a one or two inch tweeter. The rear speakers are both 6 inch. You might post this question in the General Corvette - Audio/Electronics section. Those guy will know more. I replaced my whole system with a new head, components and a sub woofer and power amp. Have fun.
You might find that info under Forums - General Corvette - Audio Electronics. The Bose is just ok for a stock system - you can make major improvements with new speakers, sub, and an amp - head unit also if you can afford it.
I just got my first Vette!
2000 Silver Coupe 6spd......
I just have a question, can any one tell me the specs on the stock bose radio system:
- Wattage of System
- Speaker sizes
- Number of speakers (6 i believe)
Basically I'm just looking to educate myself on this particular system.
Congrats on the new Vette! You'll love it. As far as the Bose system, it does have 6 speakers. The front door "woofers" are 8", and each have their own amplifier. The "twiddlers" are right above the woofers, and are 3.5". The rear speakers are 6.5". The wattage of the system is somewhat vague. I've heard up to 200W, but I think that's very optimistic. If you really want to improve the sound of the system, add an amp and subwoofer, and replace the twiddlers with standard coaxial 3.5" speakers. Or, just turn the radio off, get a Borla exhaust and enjoy the wonderful sounds of this machine!
