Alternator Bracket Replacement
I am in the process of putting a new chrome alternator bracket on my 99. To change the bracket the power steering pump has to be removed from the alt bracket. On the 99's which I have the brake box is right in front of the power steering pulley. Has anyone, or does anyone know how or if the pump and pulley can be taken off the bracket without removing the brake box? Thanks, this is turning out to be a real pain in the butt.

c5 alt pulley problems
Yes, the alt bracket can be removed with out removing the brake box, however you will need to break the factory pulley and purchase an aftermarket ps pulley like the one ecklers carries because it is spoked so you can access the ps pump mounting bolts with the pulley installed unlike the factory solid plastic model.

Got it off without removing the steering box, I took the bracket off then was able to get the PS pump off without braking the pulley using an open end wrench on the work bench. I now have to get the pulley removed because I have a billet one coming for it. Also made it easier by taking the water pump off, sent that off to be chromed also. Now wait for the pieces to get back from the chromer to put it back together.
