Default Wagon Wheels for track use question

I have a full set of Wagon Wheels after buying my C6 chromies. I want to get a pair of Drag Radials (probably BF Goodrich) to put on those wheels for the drag strip. Do you think I use the 17 or 18 inch wheels? I was thinking the 17 inch to save some weight, but would I be better off with the 18’s and go with a wider tire for better traction? Your thoughts appreciated.

Smarter guys than me will advise, but a taller sidewall = good on drag tires.

The question is will the 17's go on the back? Isn't the back spacing different? If they will go then it seems like the 17s would be the better bet.

Not to hi-jack your thread but I have a set of wagons for sale if anyone else might be intersted in some track wheels. PM me if interested.

Good question. I just assumed the 17's would fit on the back. Does anyone know the answer to that question?

The 17's should fit fine. They have almost the same offset as a rear Z06 wheel.

I run the 17in wagon wheels with BFG DRs. I put them on at home, drive to the track, lower the pressure to about 17, race, fill them back up to 30 psi and go home (sometimes I even leave them on around town just to have fun)...

Able to pull 1.65s 60s from them

Wicked Weasel, what size tires are you running on those 17in wheels?

I went with the 275/40s. Tire rack also offers 315/35, but I was not sure if they would fit under the car...

BTW - they cost about $150 each from tirerack...

Thanks for the info Weasel. I wish they made those in a 295 series, but ya gets what ya gets... 275/40 it is.
