Hello, I'm just buying my first Vette, 1999 C5 w/118,000 miles for a daily driver and autocrosser. My buddy has a set of 96 C4 wheels 17 X 7-1/2 and 17 X 8-1/2. Will these fit on the C5? I want to mount street tires on them and use the C5 rims for R-compounds.
Also, I'm 6'-4" and need to get lower in the car. Has anyone lowered a stock (sport, power) seat or used a replacement?
I've got a set of 1998 C5 Wagon Wheels 17x8.5 front and 18x9.5 rear that I'll sell you. I know those will fit and would be perfect for autocrossing, drag racing and road coursing.

Is there any advantage to running the 18" rears on the street compared to the 17"? Besides looks? Seems like a bit of x-tra side wall might protect the rim a bit.
I intend to drive pretty conservatively on the street, save the fun stuff for the Auto-x or track.
Handling, is improved with less sidewall. Also, you have to make sure the rear is staggered and about .5"+ or taller in the rear. Some people have run a little as .3" inches wiithout problems, but i belive it decreases the effectivness of your Active handling.
