Does anybody have the "skinny" on car lifts. that is the ups and downs, pros and cons, which is best, how hard is it to install (do I need someone to do it and who?). what goes wrong and how easy is it to fix?

Do a search for "4 post lifts" and you'll see 10 different threads started since 11-21. You can start with this one. You'll be reading the rest of the afternoon if you look at all of these!! http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...s&forum_id=103
There are more. They also include info on two posts as well.
Several of us have installed them in the last month alone. When you need details, ask away...
if you have the money and the overhead room, a 4 poster is the way to go. BUT, if you are like me, no headroom, a kwik lift is just the thing. try it , you'll like it.

Just put in a two post lift and love it. Finally have the freedom to do all of the the work I want without the problems of four post lifts. No other way to go IMO.
Staw away from any import lifts on the market. Me being a Rotary distributor I'm going to say Rotary has the best lifts on the market and they are the most expensive. But you get what you pay for. I have been in the lift industry for almost 20 years and have seen lift companys come and go. It seems the one thing people overlook when buying a lift, is the company going to be around in 20 years or longer because lifts do break and parts are needed. Just my 2 cents
