I puchased the adaptor from Midamerica so I can install a Momo manual shift ****. When I tighten the set screws so the adaptor is securewhen you push down the shifter to shift out of park the shifter tends not to pop back up. Anyone else have this problem or did I do something wrong. I followed the directions at www.cau-llc.com website which is where the paperwork that came with the adaptor said to go.
a little dab of grease where the parts move helps, I remember fooling with mine for a while until I had it in the just the right spot also, its been over 3 years with no problems, what grumpy says below helped too.
Anyone know what the thread size is on the adapter itself. I just got mine the other day and none of the handels I have seem to fit .I gonna have to retap one I think, but I have to get the right size .
I have one from West Coast Corvettes (See link below). It was alittle tricky getting it adjusted, took about three tries and 30 minutes to install. I really like it. Looks, feels and works great.
I had the same problem with the threads. It is the black coating on the threads. I took a file and lightly filed some of the black coating off and then the **** screwed on without a problem.
The adapter works great. I bought a 2 inch billet round **** and painted it gloss white. I like the sixties look.

Thank you for the reply , but thats not the problem with mine .The T handle I have dosent even screw on , it will have to be drilled and taped to work . It looks like 9/16 to me but I dont know what thread size and pitch to get for the tap. I just figured someone would know off the top of there head what it would be

I had the same problem. My neighbor just open a machine shop, so I gave him the pieces to make fit. He had to make a new jam nut too. I think he said it was 9/16. It works great.

The thread is 9/16-18.
The two setscrews must be tightened so that the outer collar is centered over the outer plunger surrounds or the adapter will bind.
The shift adaptor keeps getting loose and I have to keep tightning the set set screws. Is there someting I can put on the threads of small set screws to keep it tight. I guess vibaration is the culprit.
