Help Quick!!!
"There is an unusual engine rattle noise in the top."
and
"Problem A/C / Heater / Defroster / Frt-Rr Air conditioner blower is noisy"
Any comments? I havent heard the vehicle yet, nor have I ever heard a C5 in person, so I dont know if the engine sound is normal. Also, is there any known AC noise problem that anyone is aware of?

The ls series engines sometimes have notceable piston-slap noise - particularly at start-up and while cold.
It is a clacking noise. I always wondered if the all aluminum block could somehow exacerbate internal rotating assembly noises, but in this instance, it is usually seems only one barrel makes noise.
Neither of my cars do this, but several others I have heard do. A good freind of mine had a 2002 Z28 that made the noise from new, and he traded for an 01 C5 coupe, and it makes the noise as well.
Some of the 6 liter truck engines have this issue , too. In short - it is fairly common.
Nothing to worry about - but I would add that I heard of at least one person who was able to get GM to extend the powertrain warranty when the owner complained about he noise in a new C5.
I can't speak to the blower noise - there is no common issues with the blower/heater than I have been aware of over time.
best regards -

It might not be anything to worry about. The piston slap is fairly common on cold starts and will go away, don't know what to say about the blower noise. What year is the car, how many miles?Paul
I beleive it's valvetrain noise. Normal right? I was told by many people that the c5 engine valvetrains sound like sewing machines. Right? And THIS noise sounds like it's exactly where the valvetrain is and it sounds just like a sewing machine.
-The AC Blower noise... I couldn't here ANYTHING. I went back, forth, up, down, left right, in out... NOTHING!
- Please correct me if I'm wrong about the valvetrain noise, becuase I'm about to write a very strongly worded letter to magoos.

No sewing maching in my experience -
I do notice quite a bit of injector noise - perhaps the noise you are hearing are the injectors firing away?
good luck and
