I hear ya on the 4x4. I keep fixin' to get ready. The rear lenses I have on are from Eckler'shttp://www.ecklers.com/product.asp?p...dept%5Fid=1384
They mount with velcro and are a "cover" not screw on or stick on.

Red,I believe that they are. I read over the state laws (as best as I could
) and I believe that as long as you can see the light shine thru (parking, driving, brake and turn) they will be o.k. I haven't had much opportunity to be seen on the roads with them since I put them on, so time will tell. The lenses pretty much disappear when the lights are on so we will see. The Massachusetts law that I found says:"the regulation clearly states that all lenses and reflectors must be intact, clean, unobstructed, and free from cracks"
It's anyone's guess if they will consider this "obstructed" or not as you can see the lights clearly when they are illuminated. I'm quite certain it passes the 200 feet visible that I believe Connecticutt requires.

I think Talon's rear blackouts are better than the ones I have. I'm sure they light up more when on the brakes. At night you can't even tell they are there... except the velcro showing through.
