besides coilovers, do they just make lowering springs? i noticed someone cut something in the front, and put some lowering bolts in the back, i would rather just put on some lowering springs if possible? any help/pics? thanks
You ought to use the "search" function. There are only a few ways to lower your car, and there are "how-to" write ups all over the place here. Check it out.
Incidentally, if you look under your car, you won't see "springs" like it sounds like you're thinking you have. We have transverse fiberglass leaf springs.

most are happy with the lowered look on stock bolts. then some are happy by getting longer bolts in the rear and cuting or completely removing the front bolts. while few go as far as coilovers. Most say to get coilover off the bat if you plan on doin a lot of racing because they give you the most fexibility
Well first off congrats on your Z A little lower all the way around will make your car look much better. The rear is very easy to do, just jack up the rear end so you have the suspense loaded, and then add preset to the spring by going counter - clockwise (can't remeber...) on the nut on the top of the bolt, and holding the bolt tight so it does not spin. You can go much lower on the stock bolts, by moving the nut higher, towards the end, of the bolt. I am at 4 threads now showing out back. The front is the same thing, just harder to get too and there is not as much to take that way, and if you want more you will have to cut the bushings. Just get a good alignment after, as your car will be way off and these cars can cord a tire very fast (ask me how I know that )
I had a set of longer bolts, for maybe 3 days on the back of my car. Even all the way up, it was still too low for my tastes so I took them off and kept the nice red bushings on the car, with the OEM bolts. Good luck

no matter which way you do it make sure you get your alignment done after you are done. I speak from experience,.....and you don't want to fork out $700 for some new tires because of a $60 lowering job.
yes i lowered it yesterday, i dont think with the stock bolts it will need an alignment, but yea someone should figure out the stats on those bolts/nuts, who wants to pay 50$ for something that costs 5 max

I lowered mine on stock bolts. Up to you to take the advise.
