speeding ticket
got my first speeding ticket saturday doing a quick burst to 70 in a 45 from a traffic light where noone was around but that cop up ahead in the median. bummer. he was cool but still gave me the ticket. i said i was just having fun and he said he understood but still had to give me the ticket.
had the car almost a year with no tickets so i guess i should feel lucky. hard to go the speed limit in the z. anyone else get lots of tickets in their z's?

same thing happened to me last month, 75 in a 40 zone $350.00 fine. court date 12/15/05 
trying to fight it, but if i loose i'll just add it to an invoice and have a customer pay for it ( plus surcharges)

Opt for court. Talk with the proscuter and apologize to the Cop. Don't know what came over me, I never done this before with this car, I made a stupid mistake etc. I AM Sorry!!! It works -6 points down to 2, $ 250 fine no increased insurance cost. Just a pointer, Don't light the tires when leaving the Court House. Good Luck!

If you've got a manual try blaming it on the skip shift- (Gee your honor I thought I was in second but I was in fourth . . I dunno what happened . . . )

i should feel lucky this time. mine is only gonna cost me $205.50. i don't know how they come up with the .50. good luck in court. Z16 is right. be real polite in court and maybe they'll cut you a break.
two years ago i was hauling my harley on a trailer through tift county ga. at 10:30 at night through a so called construction zone. barrels off to the side but no construction going on. they had 60 posted and i was doing 80 and the local deputy got me for $350.00. he was a real *** too. spent a lot of time looking at my bike, i think trying to imply maybe i stole it. kept me there for a good half hour.
i read in a recent car and driver that many counties and states use the so called construction zone to increase revenues greatly. just remember tifton, georgia on interstate 75. a real speed trap.

that one did work for me once on my kawasaki 750 long ago when i passed an unmarked deputy at a high rate of speed while weaving around cars. he pulled me and i thought he would throw the book at me. i just told him i had no excuses and that i was just having fun, very politely of course. he just reminded me of how many bikers get killed doing that kind of stuff and told me to get out of here and don't let me see you doing that again. i couldn't believe he let me go but maybe he was into bikes and liked to have fun too.
