Noisy Fan
Has anyone ever had to replace the fan for their HVAC? Once it got cold, I noticed my car has a very loud rattle from the fan. I am unfamilliar with the interior of automobile HVAC systems. Is there a seperate fan for the heater core?
Also, has anyone taken apart their whole console to fix such a thing? How long did it take? Now that there is salt on the roads, I have all winter; but I'd like to know what I'm getting into.

The rattling goes away when the car warms up. I'm not sure if it's just because the fan goes at lower speed. Now that the streets are covered in salt, I have no way of checking anymore though

I had to replace my fan,in the middle of winter also,it started by making noise until it got so bad I had to replace it,I would just replace it if I were you,the bearings I believe to be the culprit,common on these I have been told,They are not hard to change ,you can lean under your dash on the passenger side to do it,If i remember right theres just 3 screws and you have to unplug it,I purchased a used one at a salvage yard for $35. good luck
